The thing I loved the most about this day tour was appreciating the architecture. The city of Toledo is a treasure trove in that respect. They call it the City of Three Cultures, and I can totally see why. I was awestruck by the story of Santa Maria la Blanca. First it was a synagogue built by Muslim craftsmen, then it became a Christian church. As our guide told us, this type of eclectic architecture can be seen only in synagogues of Toledo and Segovia. I learned so much on this tour of Toledo, and I highly recommend it to all travelers.
The people from the group were friendly, and we had a good English-speaking local guide. He took us all over the historic city of Toledo and told us much about its past. The guy was really eloquent and has good storytelling skills. It almost felt like we were in a time machine. We saw churches, monasteries, and synagogues, and he knew a lot about each site we visited. Although it was a full-day tour, the time flew by really fast. I came back to Madrid with my batteries fully charged, which is exactly what I needed at that point.
